the pros and cons of playing computer games

For several years, computer debate has extended to computer games many of which include addiction, behavioral problems, school performance, and how parents are monitoring their children. Technology has improved from generation to generation and young children are into what we call computer games . There are advantages and disadvantages of playing computer games but the disadvantages of playing computer games seem to outweigh the advantages. This is why we must monitor what computer games and how long the young people are playing .

Most of all, people get hooked on to playing computer games so much that they tend to lose interest in other more important things like studies. It is shown that children play an average of seven or eight hours per week playing computer games. Computer games are one of the main factors why students neglect their studies. In addition to that, looking at the computer screens without resting the eyes for long periods of time, will spoil our eyesight.

Computer games are actually a waste of time as players do not look like they gain anything from the many hours spent by pressing the buttons on the keyboard. Another problem is that the market is flooded with new and more sophisticated games and players are never able to satisfy themselves as each victory fuels another urge for a new challenge.

The advantages that are evident in playing computer games are that you will eventually know more about the computer software and hardware as each game will have its individual problem and this will have to be solved through knowing the use of computer software and hardware. Playing computer games will also result in the understanding of computer slang  which would otherwise confuse the mind of a non-player. One more advantage would be that our fingers will grow accustomed to pressing buttons on the keyboard as we gradually become better in our skills at the computer games. Also stand a chance to play sports with professionals on their team that will improve hand eye coordination, stretch imagination or problem solving, think strategically, balance economy, and really just improve skills in a way that is entertaining.

Computers games tend to distract children from more important things like homework and social activities or sun light. Thats why disadvantages of playing computer games seem more than the advantages. But every coin has its two sides, we should make use of most of the advantages instead of its disadvantages.
