The Cons Of Bringing Cell Phone To School

Principal’s Opinion: As a school principal, I would recommend that students should not allow bringing their cell phone to school. Students will not pay fully concentration during lesson with a cell phone. For example, Students often forget to turn off their phones in class, and ringing noises or text-message alerts disrupt learning. Even if set to silent, cell phones can still cause distraction, since text messaging has become a high-tech method of passing notes in school. It may disturb other students studying during lesson and it also makes the class become noisy since the ring tones from the cell phone will distract all students and teacher and soon it would be hard to control the situation.
Other than that, Students who have their cell phone in class can use it to cheat. They can text another person and ask them the questions on the test, or the assignment they are given. This causes a problem because it can be very simple to do. Teachers pay attention to their students, but they cannot watch all of them at the same time. During a test it is more easier to catch a student who is text messages, but during regular class it can be easy to miss. Cell phones enable students to cheat fairly easily.
Some believe that when students use their cell phones at school, it makes rumors spread faster. Everyone has access to a cell phone and when somebody hears a rumor, they send a text message to their friend to tell them about it, and their friend sends a text message to another friend, and so on. Some also think that the fast spreading of rumors makes it more likely that the rumors will worsen as it is being spread, and that the quicker it spreads, the worse it gets. When a rumor does start, the use of cell phone increases as each person receives the news, and the overuse of cell phones can cause cell phone network to overload which means that someone who is in an emergency would not be able to reach the people who could provide them help.
The main problem that people have with students being able to use their cell phones during school hours is that students can use them to cheat. If it were not for that, most people would not have an issue, but since students are able to do this, it has become a problem. The problem is that high schools allow students to have cell phones, whether or not they are allowed to use them during school hours, and most students will use them whether or not they are allowed to.

English Teacher’s OpinionI think it is not good to use cell phones in classes. There are millions of mobile phone users. The mobile phone usage is useless and  have certain disadvantages.

Mobile phones cause distraction. Students can easily be distracted when their phones ring or vibrate, and the learning process will be totally disrupted when the students start to send and read messages or make and receive calls. Therefore, They often send text messages to each other and this can also distract them from their education, as well as distract the person they aregtextin , which is likely to be another student. Students can turn their phone off, or turn it on vibrate or silence during their classes so that it does not ring and causes a disruption while they are learning. They are able to silence their phones, but most students will forget to this. When they do forget and they receive a call or text message, the whole class stops. Even if students put their phone in vibrate mode, some cell phones can still be heard. Everyone turns to look at what is causing the sudden noise and the teacher stops talking. This distracts students from their lesson and makes them have to re-focus all over again.

Besides that, Mobile phones can be used in cheating during examination. Text messaging is the new note passing. Students can exchange text messages with test answers on them without the teacher’s knowing or noticing. They can text another person and ask them the questions on the test, or the assignment they are given. This causes a problem because it can be very simple to do. Teachers pay attention to their students, but they cannot watch all of them at the same time.
Mobile phones can be health hazards. Constant exposure to the radiation emitted by mobile phones may be bad for the students .As an example ,many researches show that people using mobile phone frequently have more risk to get ears and fingers diseases. In addition, mobile phone can cause more diseases like epilepsy, childless male and especially brain cancer. A worrying fact is that a large number of people using mobile phone.
As a conclusion, I don’t agree student to bring their mobile phones to school. it also affects health and education badly.

Parents 's Opinion Technology has changed almost everything. With the Internet and our mobile devices, everyone is now connected. Cell phones have become a necessity, more than just a luxury. And today, there is a very long standing debate about the use of mobile phones in the classroom. Cell phone seems to be very useful all the time. In fact, for every plus, there is minus. In my opinion, although cell phone shows us many advantages, it also brings us some disadvantages. In other words the cons far outweigh the pros.
Firstly, cheating and inappropriate photos are also concerns associated with cell phones. As cell phones become more sophisticated and powerful, opportunities for cheating increase. Teachers have caught high school students taking pictures of tests to pass along to students in later classes, for instance, or accessing photos of textbook pages or notes during tests. Inappropriate photos taken in locker rooms and restrooms have also become a problem in some schools, which carries the potential for lawsuits; many school systems have banned camera phones while still allowing traditional cell phones.

Then,
opponents of cell phones in schools believe cell phones do not improve school safety. For example, in the event of an emergency, cell phone signals can become jammed if everyone attempts to contact people at once, which can make it difficult for teachers to contact the authorities. If students do successfully contact their parents, parents may all rush to the scene, which can conflict with evacuations or other responses. Cell phones can also facilitate the spreading of rumors during emergency situations. In addition, cell phones are sometimes used to call in bomb threats or other threats, which students may do in order to evade a test. These calls often are untraceable. Cell phones can also be used to detonate real bombs.

After that, Many teachers claim that cell phones provide too much of a distraction for students. This can happen at any age level; Net
Day reports that 61% of students in grades three through six and 70% of students in grades six through twelve use their cell phone during school or on their free time. Whether it's a student playing a game on their phone rather than listening to class or a ring tone disrupting a lecture, cell-phone use tends to take students' minds off of the subject at hand. The President of the American Association of Policy Services, Dr. William Scharffe, advised that "There should be no use during instructional time as they are a disruption to instruction and the school atmosphere."
In conclusion, As long as electronics aid students in learning, schools will supply classrooms and students with electronics. Banning extraneous and distracting electronics remains the most effective way to keep electronics in the classroom a positive outlet.
