Nowadays video games have become a very common mode of
recreation for children as well as adults. Often we hear about issues related
to the ill effects of this kind of technology, be it the excessive violence,
gender stereotyping or the preference of staying indoors instead of playing
outside. Yes, there definitely exists some major ill effects of this invention
but the other side of the story cannot be ignored completely. I partially agreed
that playing video games has pros and cons that we can considered .
I am sure that playing video games are fun and interesting for children as well as adults. It is
scientifically proven that playing these games actually improved the ability of
problem solving and logic skills. They are training their thinking skills to
build up strategies and analytical thinking abilities. In the fast
growing technology , there are more games are invented . The adventure games,
puzzles , riddles trigger the brain to think unusually and come up with out of the
box ideas. They have the ability to react fast enough to a situation that they
faced. By doing this , they trained their brain to adapt fast to collect any
information.
Besides that, playing video games enhanced the level of hand-eye coordination . For instance , surgeons
who indulge in video games are less susceptible to commit errors than those who
doesn’t. Sports have always been regarded as the best way to improve hand-eye coordination, but recently it has been proven that videogames may improve it just as much, if not more than sports. A recent study has shown that video game improved surgeon's hand-eye coordination enough that it was recommended that surgeons play a specially developed videogame before surgery in order to "warm up." The study found that surgeons who played video games for at least three hours a week made 37 percent fewer mistakes and performed the procedure 27 percent faster than those who did not play video games at all. They really have to move fast to overcome hurdles in these games. The
zest to win the game will make them to strive for best against their opponents. However , the point
still remains that the time restriction has to be imposed on the video games.
On the other hand, video games also has it negative side as
mention earlier . Children tend to be
more aggressive behaviour in socialising
with others.P laying video games that have violence make them to imitate the characters that they
played in the games. They seems not
bothering advice by others. Games
involving shooting and killing are the one rise
the emotion of anger in them. The anger actually will be shown to others
even for small matters. They tend to behave like gangsters and start to fight for small matters. In today's world many people all around the globe are becoming video game addicts. They play everything of games starting from arcade games to 3D action games, PSP and Xbox 360 platform games. Some of them are very much violent in nature. And they depict lot of blood in the games. So the problem here is these violent video games really changing the younger generation's mind and affecting their overall behavior
Computer and video games are popular pastimes for many Australian children, but very little research has been done on how these games affect children’s health. It may be appropriate to look at research studies into the health effects of watching television because computer or video games, like television, involve no physical activity.Research shows that adults who work at computers for long periods of time are prone to a range of muscle and joint problems that can cause back pain, neck pain and headache. Eyes that are focused at the same distance point for lengthy periods of time become fatigued. Symptoms include blurry vision and headache.
The sedentary nature of playing electronic games could also increase the risk of developing muscle and joint problems such as back and neck pain and headaches. While computer or video games are fun and offer benefits such as improved spatial awareness, parents should keep in mind that moderation is the key to minimising any health risks.

As a conclusion , playing video games actually
have positive and negative effects. I
t depends how an individual get benefit
from and don’t dig their own hole. The best to handle this is via parental guidance
. parents should keep a close eye on their children on playing video games
since paying it definitely fun and entertaining
and also relieving tension. However, too much indulgence can lead to addiction.
