The Cons of Playing Video Games

Too much of something can always harm you. This rule also apply to video games. Playing video games too oftenly and for too long can harm you in more than one way.

One of the negative impacts is promoting violence. Video games do have negative effects on children’s aggression and desensitizaton to violence. Addiction to video games sometimes appear to be a very serious case that causes death, as taken from the case of a kid who was addicted to the television, he pretended to be a superhero and jumped off the building, thinking that he could also fly like superman, a young life was gone with such a heartache way. The violent shooting games make the youths prone to aggressive thoughts, attitudes and actions, they desensitizing the players to violence.  This shows that these video games bring greater impact and contribute to a cold-hearted view of other people.

Besides that, because of those students who cannot manage their time well, they tend to spend more time in playing games. They play until they do not realize that the time is passing and some of them can even give up their meals just to continue their challenges. From day to night they just cannot stop themselves, so the games become endless and meaningless. As their interests in games are much higher than their school works, some students even neglect their homework and they think of copying from their friends by the next day. If this case continues on, they will not learn anything, causing their academic performances to go downhill, especially of those who are addicted to these video games, they cannot concentrate on their studies as their minds have already been occupied by the games.

Health problem is the most important ill effect in playing video games. Many of the teenagers spend all of their free time playing video games by skip meals or lose sleep because of your excessive game play, video games addiction can seriously impact your health. The addiction of video games can lead to such medical issues as headaches, eyestrain, syndrome pain and numbness that u may feel in your hands, shoulders and elbows. These effects could harm us to an unwell and tiring position by just eyeing in front of the computer at least for few hours. Therefore, we must control out time in playing video games for maximum 2 hours so that we won’t feel tired and the like.

In conclusion, video game is giving many disadvantages to all generations especially teenagers.  It couldn’t help us to increase our education, but only could destroy a person daily life. Therefore, we must limit our time in playing video games and being step far away from those serious cases to ensure a healthy lifestyle in their entire life and upcoming generation in future.

Negative effects of cell phone used in school
Cell phones are becoming an extremely popular electronic for people to purchase and in some instances they are even replacing house phones. They are also becoming more technologically advanced. Many children, even as young as kindergarten-age, are becoming cell phone owners. The potential of things that can be done with these phones is endless. When it comes to controlling cell phones in the classroom, most parents think forbidding children from bringing cell phones onto school property is an extreme measure. A recent survey that 95 percent of parents prefer to be the ones in control of their child's cell phone use.

Teacher’s Opinion:
At the school level, children have to learn to be disciplined. Allowing them to use mobile phones will make them used to the luxury and only spoil them. It is unnecessary because schools provide a protected environment. Parents needn't worry about their kids' safety that much.
It is strictly parent’s responsibility to keep mobiles away from the children. If it rings in the classroom it disturbs the whole class & sidetracks the students' attention, not only the mobile holder’s. In my perspective it should be stringently forbidden at school-level. If parents want to know the safety of their children they can use school phone.
With the passage of time and with advancement in science and technology, moral values have taken a back seat. These days students do not have any respect for their parents, teachers and classmates. And mobile phones act as a catalyst in it. It is being exploited as a status symbol by the certain class of society causing heartburn for those who cannot afford them. Hence they should be banned in schools.
Students can turn their phone off, or turn it on vibrate or silence during their classes so that it does not ring and causes a disruption while they are learning. They are able to silence their phones, but most students will forget to this at least once during their high school career. When they do forget and they receive a call or text message, the whole class stops. Even if students put their phone in vibrate mode, some cell phones can still be heard. Everyone turns to look at what is causing the sudden noise and the teacher stops talking. This distracts students from their lesson and makes them have to re-focus all over again.
Students who have their cell phone in class can use it to cheat. They can text another person and ask them the questions on the test, or the assignment they are given. This causes a problem because it can be very simple to do. Teachers pay attention to their students, but they cannot watch all of them at the same time. During a test it is more easier to catch a student who is text messages, but during regular class it can be easy to miss. Cell phones enable students to cheat fairly easily.

Principal’s Opinion:
The cell phone could turn into a potent device for some students. Instead of using it for academics and emergencies, some students might make unlawful use of its features - like that of the camera, and therefore bring the issue of school safety into the picture. They might click snaps that are not right, or record videos that are questionable in nature or call the school and report a bomb threat as a prank or to cancel classes. They may also use the phone to draw out other illegal activities like drug deals, thefts and the like.
Some believe that when students use their cell phones at school, it makes rumors spread faster. Everyone has access to a cell phone and when somebody hears a rumor, they send a text message to their friend to tell them about it, and their friend sends a text message to another friend, and so on. Some also think that the fast spreading of rumors makes it more likely that the rumors will worsen as it is being spread, and that the quicker it spreads, the worse it gets. When a rumor does start, the use of cell phone increases as each person receives the news, and the overuse of cell phones can cause cell phone network to overload which means that someone who is in an emergency would not be able to reach the people who could provide them help.
The parents should not be contacting their kids in the middle of my lectures.  It’s simply ignorant and bad cell phone etiquette.  If they had a real legitimate reason to interrupt my class, they could call the school’s main number and have the student paged. It takes no time at all for the secretary to get in touch with me and notify the student.  In this way there is the added benefit of us tracking exactly what’s going on so the school isn’t in the dark when there are family issues. The school needs to be informed when a student up and left and when parents contact students directly and they leave, we are left in a panic looking for the student.
Schools that have metal detectors at their doors and are considered extremely dangerous are the only schools that typically confiscate cell phones. The reason: when students get into fights, they often call for "outside assistance." This could mean a gang member calling older members of his gang or members who attend a different school. School administrators report that cell phones should be considered a weapon in these schools because they allow small-scale fights to spiral out of control. Out-of-control fights put the school administrators who are trying to control the fight in danger.
In the conclusion, most of the authorities do not encourage school board allow their children bring cell phone to school. The main problem that authorities face with their children being able to use their cell phones during school are distraction of cell phone in class, cheating in test or quiz, sending sexual messages or pictures among students and etc. Therefore, authorities should teach their children the correct  way of wisely use in cell phone instead of  using cell phone for listen music and  text messaging in class.

Cell Phone: Is it a necessity at school ???

Cell Phones in Classroom (Good or Bad??):-
A mobile phone (also known as a cellular phone, cell phone and a hand
phone) is a device that can make and receive telephone calls over a radio link
whilst moving around a wide geographic area. Nowadays, everyone might have
their own phone no matter how old they are. Some even bring their phone to
school regularly. However, as a principal I feel that having cell phones in
classroom is not suitable for us and it can only causes negative impact through us.

Roles of a School Principal:-
First of all, as a principal I strongly feel that bringing cell phone to school
can destroy our school image.
A child may have an old phone, those who dont
have one may get ridiculed. Some student might quarrel with each other due to
comparison of their phone. As the global is getting more develop, many kind of
phone such as smart phone becoming more  famous. This causes some of the
student stole their friends’ smart phone due to their jealousy. So it is not
necessary for a student to bring their phone to school.
Next, bringing cell phone to school might helping Students Cheat Cell
phones can facilitate cheating on tests, quizzes, in-class essays and other
assignments. For example, students in a class may silently text each other the
answers. Students whose phones have Internet access may look up answers on
the Internet. Students may also use the calculator function on their cell phone to
compute math problems or may store information as a "cheat sheet" in their
phone.
Opponents of cell phones in schools contend that cell phones create a
distraction in the classroom. Students may text their friends, play games orbrowse the Internet instead of paying attention in class. In addition, cell phones
that ring or vibrate in class disturb everyone. Cell phones in school may
therefore hinder student learning. This causes student can’t pay fully attention
during teachers’ teaching and couldn’t pass their examination with flying colors.
As a conclusion, schools must find ways to balance the pros and cons of
cell phones in the classroom and avoid allowing students to bring mobile
phones to school. Discipline action must be taken to those who bring mobile
phones to school.

Parent comment about cell phone in school:
Nowadays, almost every student has a handphone. In my opinion, handphones are bad
for children. If they want to study hard, they shouldn’t bring handphones to school.
Here are some reasons why students should not be allowed to bring handphones to
school.
Firstly, students will not concentrate on their studies if they have their handphones
with them. The will play with their handphones during class. They will not
concentrate on their work because they will be holding their handphones in their
hands. Their eyes may be looking at the book but their fingers will be busy pressing
the buttons on the handphones. They won’t study as they only want to play with their
handphones. Morever, the handphones may ring in class and interrupt a lesson. This
can happen if students forget to switch their phones off. If the phone rings, the teacher
will get angry and may confiscate the phone. When I was in Middle School,
someone’s phone rang very loudly during Korean class. I was reading a book and my
phone was switched off but it sounded as if the ringing came from me. The teacher
called me and took the phone from my pocket. I felt that it was so unfair! To avoid
situations like this, students should not bring their handphones to school.
Secondly, if students lose their handphones, there will no way to recover them. They
may drop their handphones while they are running around. If they drop their phones,
it will be very difficult to find the handphones again. They probably won’t remember
where they lost their phone or someone might have taken the phone. If there is no
witness or evidence, it will be almost impossible to get their handphones back. In this
case, we can only blame the owner of the phone for bringing it to school. Once, when
I was seven years old, I lost my handphone in school. It was my father’s phone so he
was very angry. I had taken the phone with me to play games in school. While playing,
I fell asleep and when I woke up, the phone was gone. Nobody knew where it had
gone so I was punished by my father. Thus, students should not be allowed to bring
handphones to school because they might lose them.
Thirdly, some students cannot afford to buy handphones so it may cause jealousy
amongst friends. Those who cannot afford handphones may become envious of those
who have expensive handphones. They will start to harass their parents for
handphones. They will be embarrassed about being poor, especially if their richer
friends start teasing them about not having the money to buy a handphone. It will be
difficult for these poor children to have a good relationship with their friends. For
example, one of my friends, who didn’t have a handphone, had a poor relationship
with his friends. He really wanted to buy a handphone so he stole some money from
his mother’s wallet and bought a phone. One day, his mother found out about it so he
was severely punished. Therefore, allowing students to bring handphones to school
can cause many problems.
In conclusion, I think students should not be allowed to bring handphones to school
because they will not concentrate on their studies, they might lose their phones and it
might cause jealousy amongst those who cannot afford handphones. It is better to
forget about the phone and concentrate on studying in school. Students do not need
handphones to lead happy lives!

Roles of an English Teacher:-
Should cell phones be allowed in school? I would have to disagree them
to bring cell phone in classroom because it may start a lot of problems, like
students text messaging each other, or calling people in the middle of a lesson
just to goof around. It is dangerous to let student bring high-technology tools to
school. They will use it in the wrong way.
First, some of the students already may not pay attention in the class
teachers are teaching. If let them bring cell phones, they sure cannot pay
attention during the lessons. They will use cell phones to play games, online or
send message to each other. The worst conditions are they will even send
message to those who are listening to the teachers. These kind of behavior
already disturb the hard-working students

Furthermore, they will use cell phones to cheat during the exam. The
meaning of exam is let students know what they gain from what they have learn.
There is a word-wrong is never mind, at least we try. Knowing our weakness can make us improve ourselves. The person who lies in the exam will lie in their
whole life and that is not the purpose of exam.

In addition, a mobile phone which used by teenagers nowadays are
usually worth over $100 and not every family can afford to buy one for their
children. Some of the students whose came from wealthy family may took they
luxury cell phones to school and show off to their friend. This will make them
jealous and stole his phone or ruined it.
When the phone lost, there will a lot of quarreling among the students.

In my conclusion, we can still live on without a cell phone. With all this
said I don't see any reason to allow students bring cell phones to school. School
will be safer and peace if students did not bring cell phones to school.

Teachers comment about cell phone in school:

As a teacher in high school, my view is cell phone are not allowed in school. In class student objective is pay attention to what teachers teaching in front, if cell phone appear in class, its a distraction to the student who using them and the other student around them, and its also very disrespectful to the teacher who most likely dosn't get paid enough,to teach us things that we need to know for later in life.

Besides that, the class will be uncontrollable, text messagging during class, taking and sending inapproprate picture of student such action will increase the burden of teachers. Those fact causes the teaching and learning process unsuccessful. The purpose of coming to school become meaningless.Futhermore, the students will seize the opportunity to cheating in their exam if cell phone allowed in class. They  could text a friend to ask for answer or Google search for answer but not be aware of the teachers. Moreover, if cell phone allowed in school, its will causes student to commit crime.Stolen case will happening around the school, its giving additional task to the teacher to sloving the problem and afftect the performance of teacher to teaching.

In short, cell phone should be banned in school so that students have a better enviroment to study and gain knowledge as much as possible to face the competitive globalized world.

Cell phone should be banned or should be allowed ?
In the modern globalization, the issue of cell phones represents a contentious issue debated across the nation even it does to any generation such as teenagers, adults, children and the like. In fact, parents must determine how to deal with students in case of using cell phones in school. Consensus needs to be reach between parents, students, and educators regarding the fair use in schools. Many people believe call phones make schools less safe and less effective. While opponents of allowing cell phones in school such as parents argue that cell phones create distraction, facilitate cheating and do not necessarily improve student safety. So, what do you think about cell phones? Is advantages or disadvantages? In my opinion, I prefer the disadvantages of using cell phones in school.

Parent’s opinion:
Firstly, parents think that classroom distraction will be creates due to using cell phones in class room. Students may always text their friends, play games or browse the internet instead of paying attention in class. Students often send text message to each other and this also could distract them from their education, as well as distract the person they are texting. Parents couldn’t guarantee that their child will not use cell phone in the classroom. Students will be more interested in texting a message or browsing the internet, rather than listening teacher’s teaching or doing their homework. These advantages could harm student from being concentrate their attention in the class and also cause their examination result being worst. Therefore, parents should disallow their child for bring and using their cell phones in the school so that students could not easily get distracted in the classroom.

Besides that, parents think that rumors can be easily spread out faster while using cell phones in the school and may harm student’s study mood and feeling. Every student has access to a cell phone and when they heard some rumor, they’ll send a text message to their friend to tell them about it, and their friend sends a text messages to another friend, and so on. Parents think that the fast spreading of rumors makes it more likely that the rumors will be worsen as it is being spread, and the quicker it spreads, the worse it gets. The main character of the rumors that they spread will be easily hurt and sad with the rumor that contains bad issue. Those who involved in the rumors will easily having closed minded and wouldn’t like to speak to anyone and also may cause bad consequences happen such as commit suicide and the like. In addition, parents will very worry about their child while the use of cell phone increased, and the overuse of cell phone can cause cell phone network to overload which means when someone is in an emergency would not be able to contact the people and provide them so help.
On the other hand, parents think that cell phones also help students cheating in their tests, quizzes, in class essays and other assignment in case also couldn’t improve their education level. Students can text another person and ask them questions on the test, or assignment that the teacher given. Some of the students whose cell phones have internet access may look up their answer on the internet and also use the calculator function to solve their math problems or store as a “cheat sheet” in their phone. Parents think that teacher could pay attention to their child, but they cannot watch all of them at the same time. During a test may more easier to catch a student while they were cheating, but during regular class, teachers may easily miss and couldn’t catch the student who were cheating. So, parents would like to suggest that school should set some cctv in the class to ensure student will didn’t have chance to cheating either during exam or regular classes.

Teacher’s opinion:
The con of using mobile device in classroom is cell phones can be used in cheating for quizzes and examination. From the perspective of teacher ,  student can asking answer from each other with texting  when exam and this show the disrespect to teacher and cause the cheating ‘culture’  in school. In some cases, student will capture some pictures of important things that could remind them of the answer before test. Besides that, having the capabilities of surfing the internet on the phone allowed students to have opportunity to cheat. Student can refer to the internet for answers on a test. Mobile device is useful but not in classroom because it leads students to cheating and discourages them from working hard.
The website which name as “Youtube” contains a lot of video s that uploaded by students from their cell phones of classroom activity but most of the videos are capture clandestinely .For example, student uploaded a video of a poor teaching of a teacher in school .From a that teacher’s view, this will ruin his or her image in school or his social circle and able to spoil the mood of teaching or the confident. Besides, the variety function of cell phone cause rumors among students.  Many children have found themselves to be victims of cell phone abuse. Students often use cell phones to spread rumors and misinformation. This misinformation can be difficult for the victim to digest and can be quite stressful for a young child to comprehend. This act of misinformation has resulted in the death of several children after their private information had been spread with the use of cell phones. This will cause the difficulty of teaching increase in classroom due to the psychological unbalance of victim or victim‘s friends.
Lastly, the use of cell phones in classroom also causing distraction. Student can easily be distracted when their phones ring or vibrate, and the learning process will be totally disrupted when most of the students busy with reading messages or texting. The use of smart phones will encourage student surfing the internet when it is not needed. Using phones to play games in classroom also will disturb the study environment although the phone is mute situation. Teaching also will be distracted in middle of process when a teacher could not teach properly.

Principal’s opinion:
First of all, students are able to contact their family members during emergency immediately without delay if they bring along their cell phones to class. It is understandable that some students tend to have problems concerning health or family issues that require them to have their cell phones along with them especially their parents are in outstations, they might be contacted with siblings in case of emergency as they take over the roles of their parents temporarily. Next, students can search for the required information about tasks that their teacher had given them easily and efficiently. From the view of a principal, I think this is quite true as the rate of learning in class will increase dramatically once they can cope up with the teacher about the lessons.
In addition to that, students can draft out their time schedule with their cell phones around them in class. From the view of a principal, the school can save loads of papers as the school teachers often photocopy simple stuffs such as the class timetable to students. Well, with cell phones, students can just easily record them down as teenagers would catch up with new technology fast. Students will not forget and will be always reminded by their phones, isn’t this step killing two birds with a stone?
On the other hand, there are also cons in using cell phones in class by students. The main ones would be causing distraction to the students as cell phones are advancing more and more to the high tech cyber world. Games, applications with funny interesting things will easily distract them from concentrating in class for lessons. Well, these circumstances will result in the decrease rate of results improvement of students and thus causing the students to be spoiled by technology. Besides that, unwanted rumors and false statements will occur in a large matter easily. For example, students can simply spread negative rumors about others with just a few clicks on the phone, which is very dangerous and troublesome to the school.

In conclusion, students have to be more rational in their way of thinking and behaviour if they want to bring their phones to school. The government now is only scare of the possibilities of the cons to happen and therefore they do not allow students to bring their cell phones to school. So all in all, it all depends on the behaviour of the students. Thank you.

Is it a necessity to bring cell phone to school?!

From a school principal’s opinion:
Nowadays, majority of student own a cell phone. School is district them from bringing cell phone to school and parents always come and complained to school that school should giving student permission bring phone to school just because parent can contact their children easily and their children can make emergency call just in case something serious happened. But, parents should understand why school blocking student bring phone to school.
Firstly,  school always giving the best study surroundings to our student. If student bring cell phone to school, they cannot concentrate while teacher is teaching in front just because they are checking their  inbox and maybe they will play some games in classroom. This shows irrespective to teacher and they cannot focusing well even they are not texting or playing games because sometimes they will distracted by the ringing or the vibrating of the phone or by reading a text message.
Beside that, cell phone can be used as cheating devices . In addition, there is growing unease about the inappropriate use of mobile phones  and the many functions available on them, such as cameras. A recent survey in the United  States revealed that over 80% of students now cheat by copying homework or exam papers  with their mobile phone cameras. This might be so unfair on giving marks for the student who are using phone cameras doing homework and student without using phone cameras doing homework.
Thirdly, case of stealing will increases. For some students who are not affordable to own a cell phone, they will feeling unbalance so they will try to get a cell phone by stealing from their classmate or friends.  Expensive phones like the Droid and the iPhone act as prime targets for thieves who want to possess the latest technology available. As a result, these valuables tempt student to resort to extremes such as stealing, because they feel as though their cell phones seem inadequate compared to today’s standards.
Overall, schools should ban the use of cell phones in school. Cell phones use increases school crime, detracts from learning, and encourages cheating. In general, this technology seems more detrimental than beneficial to students and their education. Therefore, student should not bring their cell phone to school.

From an English language teacher’s opinion:
In my opinion, I think that many kids these days have cell phones bring many of the disadvantages. You often see teenagers talking on their phones or texting. It has become a part of everyday life and a part of their society. Many teenagers and pre-teens get cell phones younger than age 12. It is encouraged socially especially among teenagers to have a phone and many teenagers get phones just because of peer pressure.

Cell phone brings many of the disadvantages such as excessive amounts of texting. One big issue concerning cell phones and teenagers is the use of cell phones in school. Cell phones should not be allowed during school because they would provide distractions for students and teachers. If a student’s cell phone rang during class, it would obviously distract him from the class and whatever the teacher is teaching. It would also certainly be distracting for the teacher-trying to talk over students who are talking when they are. One of the best ways to get in trouble during class is to talk when the teacher is talking, for it distracts the teacher, the student, and their classmates. If cell phone were allowed in school, they would increase the amount of time students are talking when they don’t need to, making the class more difficult to teach, take longer, and be less educational.

Cell phones could also provide a means of cheating on tests. Almost all cell phones have texting and kids have become good at texting without getting caught. It would be easy for kids to text each other the answers to tests during testing sessions if everyone is allowed to use their phone during class. One teacher had a story about a class he used to teach in. Some of the kids began to learn sign language. The teacher thought it was good that they were doing something new and different until he found out that they were using sign language to cheat on tests. Cell phones in school would condone cheating on tests, allowing for teens to get unfair test grades, and would only prove detrimental in preparation for college and life in the real world.

Besides that, young people can be very competitive, fighting for popularity among their peer group. This can manifest itself into stealing if a particular individual brings an especially expensive cell phone to school. The last thing you want to do is to tempt the would-be thieves by sending your child to school with a piece of equipment that make him or her target. Lockers are more likely to be broken into, for example, if they know there is something of value in there.

All in all, as an English teacher view, schools will be a better learning environment and better prepare students for life in the outside world if cell phones are continued to be banned during school day.

From a parent’s opinion:

As a parent from school community, I used to agree with the statement that allowing students to bring cell phone to school. Although there would be pros and cons, as a parent, I would like to grasp the situation of children in school. Therefore, I wish that my children will be allowed to bring cell phone to school because cell phones have created a convenience that was previously unavailable.
There are many advantages if students bring cell phone to school. Parents can be in touch with their children and know their whereabouts. For example, there will always have some school activities after school. In this case, if children be notified in urgent, they can reach their parents in this event of an emergency. Moreover, if our children are in danger, they can reach the authorities or a medical provider easily. Parents will feel more relieved as they can contact their children at anytime and anywhere.
Other than that, students can search for important information during class period. Students may be satisfied to become knowledge experts as they can serve for information that they do not understand with. Furthermore, when engaging students with literacy activities, it was also important for them to realize that words could have different meanings and different shades of meaning. Therefore, cell phone not only used for communication between parents and their children in school, cell phone also playing a role of portable dictionary and encyclopedia.
Besides, if a student is slow to copy notes from the board, they can take pictures of the missed notes and accessed later. Other than picture taking, recording also can be used to record teacher’s teaching. These pictures and records can be even send to absent classmates so that they will not missed the class when they absent. Students can also send missed assignments to classmates that are absent through massage texting.
In conclusion, using cell phone in school has a number of pros. As a parent from school community, I would probably agree with my children to bring cell phone to school because it brings advantages to students in school nowadays. However, parents should cooperate with the school to prevent any misuse of cell phone that may bring menace to children that attend school to pursuit of knowledge.

The Cons of Cell Phones in School

Everywhere we turn today, the world is crowded with people busy typing messages or playing games on their Nokias or iPhones. It has become mankind basic form of communication albeit an important one and it is a wonderful convenience and fun gadget to have, but the issue of cell phones in school represents a contentious issue debated across the nation. Inevitably, students may bring cell phones to school. Even though having cell phones at your disposal may prove to be handy, the consequence of doing so may lead to other undesirable situations. In other words the cons far outweigh the pros.

From a parent’s opinion:
In my opinion, there are no pros for cell phone use in school. I admit that they are convenience for students before and after school, but while they are in class, they should not be talking to anyone, texting or playing games. Every student uses the old “I need it for emergencies” excuse. But if there is really a true emergency, the parents only need to contact the school and the student will be found in class in a matter of moments. If the student needs to call home, all they have to do is to go to the main office or guidance. Most calls done by the students are not for emergencies, they are simply for simple communication that does not need to be done during school.
Besides that, the disruptions that cell phones cause are cheatings, rude behaviors. All these involved makes the using of cell phones in school useless. Most businesses now have personal cell phone use rules and regulations. Business is done on company phones, not personal cell phones. If employees are using their cells during work hours they are reprimanded and sometimes fired. Those same rules apply to schools. Students will not concentrate at class with the present of call phone. They will play the games and texting during the lesson.
Furthermore, having cell phone in the classroom will make students a target for becoming thieves. For those who bring expensive cell phones such like smart phones will naturally become the target of the thieves and this will only add to the discipline issues in the school. Besides that, students nowadays like to compare and to compete between students to see whose phone is the best. It is more on the student who like to show off their phone and this will lead to the problem of bullying. Students will not get good result if always occur such problem.
As a conclusion, cell phones in school have more cons than the pros. School should set the rule of not allowing students to take cell phone to school. This rule will prevent all the problems from happening.

From a school principal’s opinion:
In my opinion, there are three basic reasons why bringing cell phone to school should be discouraged. Firstly, imagine if every student brings their own cell phone to school, the constant ringing of the phones is bound to disrupt the lessons and irritate those who are not involved, especially the teachers. Then there is the question of student’s concentration as he or she may be expecting a phone call anytime or reading and replying the text messages received during lessons. At the end, this situation will affect the student’s studies and performance. Eventually, the school’s reputation will also drop and got affected. School is a place for students to study, not a paradise for them to enjoy their time. Bringing cell phones to school can also deprive the student’s opportunity to achieve the required academic excellence that they wanted.
Most importantly, cell phones have been an useful form of communication tools that may be misused or used for the wrong reason. For example, students may use their cell phones to seek for answers during examination. This will lead to a situation whereby the bold and daring will inevitably benefit and the less brave ones will have to test their guts. Unfairness sets in and the school authority will be added task of enforcing and supervising.
Lastly there will be the question of security as cell phones are bound to be stolen or misplaced that will lead to ill feelings or mistrust among students. Then teachers will be given the added tasks of solving stolen cell phones and disciplining the guilty ones, thereby further reducing their teaching time. There will be no any discipline cases if no cell phones are allowed to bring to school. If there is a discipline case that can’t even be solved by the discipline teachers, then the police may even be called in to resolve the difficult ones.
In conclusion, the disadvantages of bringing cell phones to school that is mentioned above far exceeded the advantages. So cell phones should never be allowed within the school premises like it or not. As the sayings goes, “Prevention is better than cure.”

From an English language teacher’s opinion:
As a teacher, I think that cell phones should be banned at school. It will also make my job 5 times easier without needing to yell at the students to ask them to turn off their phones. Bringing cell phones to school causes the students to use their phones during the classes and not pay attention to the lessons. Even though they have turned their phones to silent mode, they’ll still use it during the lessons. Students often send message with their friends during the lessons and play with their games on the cell phone. This causes the student to not pay attention to the lessons that the teachers are teaching. We teachers have worked hard to prepare the lessons, so we should deserve the students’ full attention in the class and not to just teach while the students are all busy staring at their cell phones.
Moving on to the next reason, cell phones were supposed to be used as a communicating tool. But students used it to cheat during exams, quizzes, in-class essays and other assignment. The improved technology of having text and smart phones helped the students to cheat easily as they could silently text to a friend to ask for an answer to the questions. Besides that, they could also simply Google for answers or use their built in calculators to compute math problems. They could also store information as a “cheat sheet” in their phones.
Next, some parents’ only valid complaint was that they wanted a way to contact their kids while in school. But in my opinion, parents should not be contacting their kids when the teachers are in the middle of their lectures. It is simply ignorant and bad cell phone etiquette. If they have a real legitimate reason to interrupt in a teacher’s class, they should call the school’s main number and have the student paged. In this way, it added benefit of the teachers to track exactly what is going on so the school is not in the dark when there are family issues. The school needs to be informed when a student up and left when the parents contact the students. With the parents contacting directly to their kids and they leave will leave the teachers in a panic looking for the students.
As a result, from a teacher’s point of view, cell phones are not encourage to be brought to school and should be ban in school. Students should concentrate in their studies at school instead of texting messages or playing games with their cell phones school.

Bringing cell phones to school may have its pros and there are some who agrees with this, especially among the students, but still, from the school principal, parents and teacher’s point of view, the cons of bringing cell phones to school outweigh the pros. In conclusion, cell phones should be banned in school.
